‘Behind The Design’ launches as part of Cruinniú na nÓg

Junk Kouture was delighted to introduce a brand-new workshop ‘Behind the Design’ as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, a day of free creative events for the youth of Ireland.

Hosted on Junk Kouture’s YouTube channel, the workshop consists of three episodes and design teams from the 2020 Grand Final, Get with the Programme from Our Lady’s Bower Athlone, Blinded by Perfection from Moate Community School and Memory Lane from Sacred Heart Tullamore.

In each episode, the student designers behind the recycled Kouture demonstrate the techniques they applied and the recycled materials they incorporated into creating their show-stopping garments.

The workshops are a fantastic way for any upcoming Junk Kouture designers to get inspired by their peers ahead of the 2021/22 launch this September.

Watch all three episodes on YouTube today and keep your eyes peeled for more exciting content to help you on your creative journey coming soon!

Additionally, as part of Cruinniú na nÓg, members of the Junk Kouture 2020 Overall Winning Team ‘Synergy’ – Brónach Harkin and Robyn O’Donnell met Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Charlie McConalogue TD on his visit to Carndonagh Community School.  Also pictured is teacher Ms Pauline McDermott. Absent is team member Orlaith Doherty.
