Wellington School, Ayr
The design was inspired by the First World War. The students wanted to pay tribute to those who were a part of this battle. They created it to show the poppies falling, emphasizing the contrast between the strong fighting soldier and the delicate poppies.
Materials Used: They visited the Lady Haig poppy factory and were given bags of their scraps, including leftover silk and poppies, which they used to create the design. They also used leftover leather to create the bodice.
