Design Description
Due to the restrictive nature of the wooden materials used, the team focused a lot on demonstrating a variety of different textures. It evolved into a warrior-esque look, a very powerful outfit despite the muted tones with pops of complementary colour. The design is also to raise awareness for deforestation, they have used spare wood to make a creative outfit rather than it being dumped. The design emanates a warrior, it represents a powerful woman going to battle, something we do every day! We used a minimal amount of glue on our outfit.
Materials Used: They used lots of different materials, some of these include Venetian blinds, wood curls/shavings, negative (photos), old leather, sawdust, old plastic vines, wires, rope and used matches that we put nail varnish on so they would look new! The team got a lot of these from a recycling centre, collecting our own waste and from sweeping the woodwork rooms! The finished look has many accessories, include a necklace earrings and a crown!
