Design Description
Inspired by the story of a young geisha with samurai ancestry, ‘Akimasa’ combines two very different styles into one unique design. It blends the elegance of an 18th-century French gown, with its corset and structured skirts, with the strength of Japanese samurai armor. This androgynous look challenges gender norms, showing that fashion can be both strong and graceful. Made from over 300 receipts and other discarded materials, this design promotes sustainability while carrying a strong message of gender equality.
