Design Description
Inspired by world hunger, ‘Aquacultural’ promotes blue farming as a sustainable solution. Over 2,000 mussel shells, scrubbed, glazed, and layered onto lace, create a rippling ocean effect. Mussel farming is one of the most sustainable food sources and an accessible industry for women, bridging gender inequality in agriculture. A Dalian Mohawk headpiece features a ship on salvaged foam, symbolising rebellion and empowerment. Overall, this 32kg organic waste design champions sustainable food production and gender equality.
Material Used: 2000 Mussel Shells, Lace, Feathers & Hair Extensions
SDG: 2 & 5
