Design Description
Inspired by heritage, migration, and identity, ‘Dumpling’ captures the bicultural experience of its British-Chinese designers. The structured white silhouette mirrors xiao long bao, symbolizing their connection to Chinese culture, while the macrame-style netting represents Scottish heritage, blending two worlds. More than a tribute, it captures the struggle of belonging to both yet fully fitting into neither. Made from packing materials from their move from Hong Kong to Edinburgh, each element is stitched together, symbolizing immigration and adaptation.
