Design Description
The team’s outfit was inspired by the Greek mythological figure Medusa. It features a gold snake motif which symbolises the power and strength within us. Snakes are a symbol of transformation and rebirth. The team believed this to be a positive and empowering message for teenage girls as they transform into young independent women. The individually crafted shapes in the train represents the shedding of old skin and becoming a new improved person. The team chose the colour gold because it is the colour of success, achievement and triumph. This is what they are striving for in their new life.
Materials Used: The teams’ main material was cable ties. They sourced these from local GAA clubs, neighbours and friends who all had either used or unused cable ties they no longer needed. They were then individually crafted into intricate and ornate teardrop shapes. Old wire and discarded charging cables were also given new life in the design.
