Design Description

Inspired by Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, ‘I’m Your Venus’ symbolises rebirth and transformation. Like the goddess emerging from the sea, it reflects the pain of change and the strength to embrace a new setting. Reflecting the designer’s journey from Ukraine to Ireland, the shell-like bodice and mermaid-scale skirt are crafted from old tents and floor insulation, with 5,000 hand-cut circles and 3,000 triangles, echoing the sea’s ever-changing nature and new beginnings.
