Design Description

Inspired by the ocean’s call for protection, ‘Mermode’ highlights the impact of human waste on marine life. Made from hand-collected mussel and razor clam shells sewn onto fabric, it captures the delicate beauty of the sea. Plastic bottles were cut into shimmering sequins to mimic water, while repurposed metal adds strength, symbolizing marine resilience. Crafted from ocean waste, Mermode tells a powerful story of beauty, destruction, and the urgent need to protect our waters.
