Design Description
Inspired by the dark reality of fast fashion, ‘Our Lady of Thorns’ exposes the hidden damage behind the industry’s beauty. Taking inspiration from Shakespeare’s Lady Macbeth, this design symbolizes guilt and greed, with red representing the blood of overworked laborers. Built using 15kg of salvaged waste, including garbage bags and clothing scraps, the dress features dramatic spikes, symbolizing the harsh, unforgiving cycle of mass production and the urgent need to rethink consumption and sustainability.
