Design Description
Inspired by Marie Antoinette and the corruption of high society, ‘Rags to Revolution’ exposes the contrast between luxury and its hidden consequences. The front of the gown is pristine and white, symbolising the polished, “pure” image of privilege, while the back unravels into a chaotic train of discarded fabrics and trash, revealing the environmental destruction and inequality concealed beneath wealth. This design challenges the illusion of purity in the upper class, reminding us that beneath the glamour, corruption leaves its mark on both society and the planet.
