Design Description

Inspired by the urgent threat of marine pollution, ‘The Ecosystem Mermaid’ highlights the destruction of delicate ocean habitats, transforming waste into a powerful message. The skirt, crafted from layered plastic bags, was cut and shaped to show the suffocating impact of pollution, while the corset, built from salvaged acetate, reflects contaminated waters. Every piece was hand-collected, cleaned, and repurposed, turning ocean waste into an urgent call for action.
