Design Description

Inspired by the devastating impact of pollution on marine life, ‘The Polluted’ highlights how waste is destroying our oceans. Each plastic shopping bag has been carefully braided by hand, symbolising the tangled debris that traps and endangers sea creatures. The layered plastic adds depth to highlight the growing waste beneath the surface. Shimmering CD fragments are pieced together to form an octopus, symbolising marine animals struggling to survive in polluted waters.
