Design Description

Inspired by the RSA’s Vision Zero campaign and a personal bike accident, ‘Vision Zero’ raises awareness of road safety. 123 salvaged seatbelts are left intact or frayed, dyed, and unraveled for texture and movement. Hand-woven knots from seatbelts and high-vis fabric create a statement belt symbolising strength and protection. A dramatic headpiece and train, crafted by twisting dyed seatbelts around copper wire, mimic the spiral motion of a wheel, while an upcycled bike wheel frames the headpiece, reinforcing the importance of road safety.
