Concrete jungle where dreams are made

Junk Kouture appears at Climate Week NYC this month (20-26 September)

As part of its global expansion, Junk Kouture will appear at Climate Week NYC this month for the first time. As ‘Sustainable Living’ partner for the event, Junk Kouture will have a presence in New York with a number of exciting activations taking place throughout the week (20-26 September 2021).

One such event will see Junk Kouture partner with Materials for the Arts in Long Island City, to hold a collaborative, interactive workshop for schools and students. During this event, New York students will be able to see the brilliance of Junk Kouture designs up close; hear from Junk Kouture alumni; explore the Materials for the Arts facility; and even take home some materials to get their Junk Kouture journey started as well.

As well as this, Junk Kouture has been included in Climate Week NYC’s ‘Getting It Done’ promotional campaign, with past Junk Kouture participant, Nadine Maguire from ‘Paperdoll’ appearing on billboards, screens and bus-stops throughout New York.

Hosted annually by international non-profit the Climate Group in conjunction with the United Nations, and in partnership with the COP26 and the City of New York, Climate Week NYC is a global opportunity to come together to accelerate climate action and assess progress ahead of COP26.

The ‘Sustainable Living’ program brings together a diverse array of events to inspire everyone to be an ally to the planet and shares tips on how day-to-day practises can be transformative to people and the environment.
