Due to unforeseen circumstances, involving a number of positive Covid-19 cases across our touring team, we have had to make the difficult decision to postpone our upcoming show in London set to take place on 19 May 2022.
This difficult decision was made out of an abundance of caution to protect our touring personnel, the Junk Kouture participants and attendees.
We will re-engage with all of our partners and participants in the coming weeks to determine the rescheduling, timing and format of these events later in the year. Our live World Final will go ahead as planned, and we will confirm all new dates once we have worked through availability and scheduling.
We remain committed to the delivery of our City Finals in each market, and we thank everyone who has worked with us up until this point and look forward to seeing you at the re-scheduled events, celebrating the work of creative young people across each location.
The 2023 competition is open to all post-primary students aged 13 – 18 across the United Kingdom.
Look around you and get creative! Everywhere you see waste, there is opportunity! Recycled materials tell stories, and also make for fabulous fashion and bring creativity to life! A design can be crafted into any style of wear- from glamour to theatrical. The only really important rule is that your deign is made from 100% recycled materials! Be brave, take chances, experiment, and push the boundaries! We vision a cleaner and more sustainable environment. Show us your dreams of the future, show us these through design!

We have partnered with the influential activists Kids against Plastic to amplify the movement and the role young people play as our future changemakers in the environmental movement. When asked about the collaboration, Amy and Ella from Kids Against Plastic said – “Both our ethos and values align as we look to inspire young people to visualise waste in a different way. We are particularly excited to see if students utilise plastic in their garment’s creation – there’s so much plastic waste around us it will be interesting to see how they transform the material into something beautiful.”
