Design Description
Our inspiration for “Imperium” can from the “Birds of “Paradise” dress by Thierry Mugler. We chose a metal in the form of aluminium cans to create our dress as they can be recycled an infinite number of times to create many things, including wearable art couture, as seen by our dress. They are the most recycled material, making up only 1% of waste within landfills. We were inspired to turn something so simple as a can of coke into something so beautiful as our dress. We
wanted to emphasise that through recycling we can make art and create new forms rather than waste.
