As Junk Kouture 2024 kicks off with regional finals in the Helix next month!

With countless designs made from food waste, bottles and cartons over the years, it’s a natural conclusion for Junk Kouture to announce they are teaming up with supereasy supermarket group EUROSPAR for a second year! Building on their partnership established in 2023, EUROSPAR are on board as a sponsor of Junk Kouture 2024, kicking off with the regional finals in the Helix on 4th and 5th of March and the Dublin City Final in May.

Much like Junk Kouture, EUROSPAR are at the heart of local communities across Ireland with 52 locally-owned supermarkets which will help Junk Kouture spread their all-important message of living sustainably. As part of this, a brand-new initiative Classroom Kouture will be launched by EUROSPAR, as they partner with primary schools near to EUROSPAR supermarkets. This is a great opportunity for EUROSPAR to activate their commitment to responsible retailing by supporting such a creative, inclusive and sustainable platform like Junk Kouture.

Junk Kouture designs ‘Lighting the Way’ – made by Sean Murray Gaffey with plastic tea light candle holders and onion bags and modelled by Cliodhna Buckley from Moate Community School – and ‘Eyecatcher’ – made by Beth Brady, Amy McGillick and Aoife Brady with contact lens covers, car seat covers and curtains and modelled by Beth from St Joseph’s Mercy Secondary School, Navan, Co Meath – were on hand at one of EUROSPAR’s flagship stores in Dunboyne, Co Meath to celebrate the renewal of their partnership.

Marketing Manager of EUROSPAR Claire O’Brien says: At the heart of EUROSPAR is an unbreakable commitment to supporting local communities and responsible retailing. Junk Kouture have revolutionised how society views recycled goods and made sustainability exciting for younger people in Ireland, so we are proud to support them once again in this partnership. EUROSPAR Supereasy Supermarkets across Ireland are delighted to have the opportunity to support local schools on their Junk Kouture journey.”

CEO of Junk Kouture Troy Armour says: “We are delighted to have such a well-known and trusted brand like EUROSPAR on board for another year at Junk Kouture. We are so excited to extend Junk Kouture into primary schools with the support of EUROSPAR and their 52 locally-owned supermarkets in Ireland, and to have their support at our World Final next week.”

In further exciting news, the Junk Kouture World Final 2023 will take place in just over a week’s time in Monaco on 22nd February. EUROSPAR are the official supporters of the Irish team, which has ten designs ready to fly the flag for Ireland on the world stage in Salle des Princes in Monaco’s Grimaldi Forum.
