Junk Kouture Brings Young Creativity to the Sustainable Development Conversation

Junk Kouture was delighted to be part of two important sustainable development events in Dublin, bringing the creativity, ideas and voices of young people into conversations with representatives from across EU Member States.

Across the Working Party on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the ESDN Conference 2026, hosted by the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, Junk Kouture Founder & CEO Troy Armour spoke about the Junk Kouture community and the role creativity can play in engaging young people with sustainability and circular thinking.

Four Junk Kouture designs - Global Glamour, Grounds for Glam, Reef-lection and Reclaimed by Roots - were showcased across the two events, giving delegates an opportunity to see first-hand how young creators are using unexpected and repurposed materials to explore ideas around sustainability, consumption and the world around them.

At the Working Party, Troy was joined by our Carousel Couture team, who shared their own Junk Kouture journey and perspective as young creators, bringing the student voice directly into the conversation.

It was a fantastic opportunity to share the work of Junk Kouture’s young people with an international audience and to see the interest and conversations sparked by their designs throughout the two days.

And to round off our time in Dublin, we paid a visit to Claire Garvey’s shop, where we were delighted to spot Junk Kouture design Majestique Natura taking pride of place in the window.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by, spoke with us and showed such interest in Junk Kouture and our designers.
